INNOVATION SOLUTIONS DRIVING E-MOBILITY ADOPTION IN MALAYSIA | #SMARTMOBILITYISME

Electric vehicles (EVs) represent a pivotal solution in Malaysia’s pursuit of sustainable transportation. As the country aims to reduce carbon emissions and enhance energy efficiency, boosting EV adoption among Malaysians becomes crucial. However, getting more people to embrace e-mobility requires some practical solutions.

Connected Vehicle Ecosystem

As things like charging and trip planning become more essential with electrification, EVs are primed to benefit from digital solutions delivered through a connected vehicle system. For starters, a user-friendly digital user interface can encourage users to make the switch by providing intuitive navigation and clear instructions on how to locate things like battery status, energy consumption or estimated range. Paired with vehicle-integrated apps to help with EV trip planning, locating the nearest charging facilities and even charging payment, such an ecosystem can alleviate range anxiety and allow users to truly enjoy their e-mobility experience.

Connected Vehicle Ecosystem

EV charging remains one of the main barriers to mass EV adoption across the globe. To resolve this concern in Malaysia, ACO Tech has implemented Charging Maps in selected EVs and their mobile apps to seamlessly connect users with the services of local charging point operators (CPOs). This solution empowers e-mobility users with real-time updates on the location, availability, and compatibility of charging stations, thereby enhancing convenience and confidence among EV users in Malaysia. Additionally, this feature can also integrate payment for multiple CPOs into a single system, eliminating the need for multiple user accounts across different providers.

Driving e-Mobility as a Community

ACO Tech actively contributes to the Malaysian government’s initiatives aimed at bolstering local EV infrastructure. One such initiative is the recent tripartite Memorandum of Collaboration the company exchanged with the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) and blockchain specialist Geno, which has already produced a white paper on the use of blockchain and tokenomics in managing e-mobility ecosystems. These types of collaborations with policymakers and technology partners lay the foundation to empower Malaysians with all the essentials needed to embrace the future of mobility.
