HEITECH SIGNS WITH ACO TECH TO INTEGRATE MALAYSIA’S FIRST VEHICLE PARKING SYSTEM INTO PROTON CARS
SHAH ALAM, 15 May 2023 – HeiTech Padu Berhad (HeiTech) and joint venture partner, ACO Tech Sdn Bhd (ACO Tech), are working together to incorporate the Penang Smart Parking system into Proton’s Infotainment Head Units (IHU), the first of its kind in Malaysia, hence enhancing the capabilities of the parking system integration.
A Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) was signed here today between HeiTech and ACO Tech, sealing their commitment to work together towards the success of the integration which enables Proton car owners to easily locate available parking spots and make payments through their vehicle IHU.
President and Executive Deputy Chairman of HeiTech, Dato’ Sri Mohd Hilmey Mohd Taib, said that the collaboration is a significant milestone for both HeiTech and ACO Tech, as it demonstrates the commitment shown by both parties towards the innovation and excellence in mobility-enhancing technology.
“The Smart Parking Solutions is an advanced parking management platform that utilises state-of-the-art technologies such as sensors, mobile apps and cloud computing to provide real-time information on parking availability, location and pricing.
“Hence, this proves our commitment in improving Malaysian drivers quality of life via cutting-edge solutions for their everyday challenges.
“We are confident that the integration of the Penang Smart Parking system into Proton cars will be a game-changer for the automotive industry in Malaysia,” he added.
With the integration, drivers will no longer waste time circling around looking for available parking spots, as they can simply rely on their IHU to guide them to the nearest available parking facility and make payment digitally without having to reach for their mobile devices, before disembarking the vehicle.
Developed by HeiTech, the Smart Parking Solutions is currently the first parking system integration of its kind in Malaysia and has been successfully implemented in Penang and Kulim, Kedah.
“The smart parking solutions is our contribution to the Smart Mobility component of the Malaysian Smart City Framework (MSCF) which is aligned with our vision of empowering local council to become smart cities.
“The smart parking solutions would also enable HeiTech to be part of the Government’s transformational journey, hence fulfilling the agenda of Malaysia Madani which is to focus on problem-solving processes, meeting the needs of the nation, creating peaceful and prosperous future as well as fulfilling the potential of the people of the country”, said Dato’ Sri Mohd Hilmey.
HeiTech has also developed smart solutions that provide local councils with tools to better manage tax and rental collection, effective and efficient communications channels, reduced over-the-counter services operations, enhanced delivery of bills and statements as well as promote tourists attractions in the states.
Their mobile applications such as electronic licensing and electronic billing have helped local councils to become more efficient and effective in their operations and reduced their overall carbon footprint.
“The HeiTech Group is well positioned to move beyond our current core competencies of system integration and maintenance services and capture a portion of the emerging technologies.
“We have started our journey to expand our offerings via transactional-base solutions within the mass market. Our smart parking solutions, e-know your customers, payment gateway, smart applications for local councils, smart applications for co-operatives, school management solutions and teaching portals are some of the examples that are already in the market.
“We have also moved into the cybersecurity realm by offering enterprise-based solutions that are customised to suit the respective safety requirements of any organisation,” added Dato’ Sri Mohd Hilmey.
The MoC was signed between Abdul Halim Md Lassim, Executive Vice President of HeiTech and Mr. Li Pu, Chief Executive Officer of ACO Tech at the Proton Centre of Excellence, Shah Alam. Present to witness the MoC was Dato’ Sri Mohd Hilmey Mohd Taib, President/Executive Deputy Chairman of HeiTech Padu Berhad, Roslan Abdullah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PROTON and Nur ‘Aishah Md Norodin, Under Secretary of Penang State Secretariat.
